Some recruitment businesses have far more expertise, insight and conviction than their marketing communicates.

In this RecTalk clip, James Whitelock explains why founders often speak passionately and confidently about the problems within their sector, but become far more cautious when communicating publicly.

The result is an authority gap. The business knows what it believes, understands what clients are getting wrong and has a clear perspective on what needs to change, but the market never sees it.

Strong positioning does not mean creating controversy for attention. It means expressing a clear point of view, communicating it with confidence and making the expertise inside the business visible to the people who need to understand it.
